This remote role is Monday - Friday, with 8 or 10-hour days and flexible scheduling.

This position involves activities related to the trauma registry, including data gathering, abstraction, accurate data entry/coding, validation, and reporting to meet trauma center requirements. Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary trauma team to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Performs all functions according to policies, procedures, regulations, and standards. Provides excellent customer service, demonstrating core and leadership behaviors daily.
Education equivalent to a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or certified coder, including advanced medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Completion of ATS trauma registrar and AIS courses within one year of hire. Two or more years of experience in coding, abstraction, or clinical data management. Ability to interpret medical records and abstract data accurately. Excellent organizational, communication, and data management skills. Proficiency with office software, Trauma Registry software, electronic medical records, spreadsheets, and databases.
RHIT or RHIA certification, CPC, or CSTR preferred. Past trauma registry experience and additional related education or experience are also preferred.
