Job summary

ACH Child and Family Services seeks a Youth Care Specialist to supervise clients daily and provide a therapeutic environment focused on trauma‑informed support for youths and families in care. This role emphasizes safety, skill development, and coordination with care teams in a 8–25 hour per week schedule.

You will assist with daily living tasks, transport clients to appointments, and contribute to service plan goals while maintaining confidentiality and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Experience: Six months of direct care and positive guidance experience of youth, young adults, or families in a residential or professional setting, preferred. Effective listening and communication skills. Understanding of children, youth, and families in crisis.
• Other: Must currently have a valid drivers license and maintain a Texas driver’s license within 90 days of establishing Texas residency. Must have an acceptable driving record and be willing to transport clients. Must be able to successfully complete behavioral management de‑escalation course.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clients daily and provide a therapeutic environment aligned with trauma‑informed care.
• Assist with daily living tasks and teach life/self-care skills to meet service plan goals.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities as needed.
• Document incidents, attendance, and program activities accurately.
• Collaborate with caseworkers, TDFPS, and families to support client goals.
