Job summary

ACH Child and Family Services is seeking a Youth Care Specialist to supervise clients and provide a therapeutic environment addressing their physical, mental, academic, medical, relational, spiritual and emotional needs. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, safety, and collaborative planning with families and agencies, including transportation and daily living support.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred; Texas driver’s license and de- escalation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Six months of direct care and positive guidance experience with youth, young adults, or families in residential or professional settings preferred.
• Must have valid Texas driver’s license and be willing to transport clients. Must complete behavioral management de-escalation course.

Responsibilities

• Complete client intakes and assist with intake documents.
• Provide clients with basic needs and a safe living environment.
• Provide supervision and timely bed checks as required.
• Give behavioral support and crisis intervention as needed.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Collaborate with DFPS, caseworkers, family, and other supports to advocate for clients.
