Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, is seeking a Licensed Special Education Teacher to lead a structured, trauma-informed classroom serving students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs in Virginia. You will design individualized instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals, integrating KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking frameworks.

You will work under the School Director to foster Safety, Dignity, and Opportunity in every interaction, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or SPED endorsement required; willingness to pursue within timeframe.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to SOLs, curriculum, and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied needs.
• Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and SEL integration.
• Collaborate with families, LEA representatives, and related service providers.
