Job summary

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a licensed Special Education teacher to lead trauma-informed, structured classrooms serving Virginia students with diverse emotional and behavioral needs. You will design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals and Virginia Standards, while collaborating with staff and families to support student growth.

Under the School Director’s guidance, you will implement the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and active Virginia SPED license.
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED) or related SPED endorsement required.
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured trauma-informed classroom aligned to SOLs and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied needs; use data to guide decisions.
• Deliver instruction using KEYS curriculum and Social Thinking framework.
• Collaborate with families, paraprofessionals, administrators, and related services staff.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress documentation, and required reports.
• Provide ongoing feedback to students and families on progress.
