Job summary

Gulfstream Goodwill Industries is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support participants at Residential Housing Resource Centers. This role emphasizes trauma-informed care, safety monitoring, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to promote dignity and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include orientation, documentation, crisis de-escalation, and assisting with service plans under licensed supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BHT certification or associate degree in behavioral health required; certification must be maintained.
• One year of experience in residential, shelter, human services, crisis stabilization, behavioral health, substance-use, or supportive-housing setting preferred; two years of customer service may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Participant Orientation and Support: orient participants to facility and program expectations, assist with use of common spaces.
• Cultivate a welcoming, culturally responsive environment for participants, visitors, volunteers and staff.
• Execute trauma-informed, person-centered engagement and support for participants as directed by clinicians.
• Implement portions of individual service and/or treatment plans in collaboration with licensed professionals.
• Monitor environmental safety and report behavioral, medical, or safety concerns promptly.
• Document observations, shift notes, incident reports, and logs in approved systems.
