Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids seeks an Emergency Shelter Case Manager to help guests move from unstable to stable through consistent, trauma-informed case management. You’ll provide stabilization support, help navigate housing options and referrals, and collaborate with guest services to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent related experience)
• 3+ years serving an underserved population
• Trauma-informed communication and de-escalation skills
• Strong HMIS knowledge; proficient with Microsoft Office and Resident Tracker
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently and juggle priorities

Responsibilities

• Provide guest-centered stabilization support and individualized goal planning
• Help guests navigate housing options, community resources, and next-step referrals
• Collaborate with guest services teams and interdisciplinary partners to keep care coordinated
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in HMIS and related systems; support data integrity and reporting needs
