Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a social service environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
• Successful completion of background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Greet and support families, provide a warm welcome.
• Distribute basics (bedding, towels, hygiene items, food) and assist as needed.
• Share resources and guide families to appropriate support services.
• Assist with meal service when needed.
• Use a trauma-informed approach to de-escalate crises.
• Maintain safety by enforcing shelter guidelines and reporting issues.
• Complete housekeeping tasks and assist with room checks.
• Record shift notes and complete required documentation.
• Pass important client information to shelter staff and assist with onboarding new teammates.
