Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN SANE (Forensic Nurse Examiner) on a PRN basis to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to victims and perpetrators of violence. The role requires RN licensure in Kansas, SANE training within six months, and at least one year of acute care experience.

Essential duties include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, documentation, and coordination of case facts for legal proceedings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• IAFN SANE training within six months of hire date.
• Minimum of one year of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform acts within the scope of practice as defined by the applicable licensing board.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care per unit/department policies and procedures.
• Accurately assess patient needs and develop/implement/review/maintain a comprehensive care plan.
• Evaluate and provide care to achieve desired outcomes from newborn to geriatric.
• Maintain chain of evidence and documentation; referrals; reports; mandatory reporting requirements.
• Educate patient/family on physical, emotional and psychosocial aspects of examination and care.
• Coordinate documents, testimony, and case facts for proceedings.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation per policy.
• Meet scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, holidays, and call.
• Abide by mission, vision, and values; adhere to PHI privacy rules.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, teams, and external agencies.
