Job summary

RSI is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide compassionate forensic care to sexual assault victims, including exams, prophylaxis, documentation, and referrals, following established protocols.

The role requires an active RN license in WA or OR, at least one year of nursing experience, and SANE training. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support legal proceedings in a dynamic program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing (RN) required.
• Minimum of one year work experience as a registered nurse.
• Completion of 40 hour Adult/Adolescent SANE course preferred.
• Completion of SANE preceptorship program including clinical and non-clinical practices set forth by the IAFN, RSI and OR-SATF preferred.
• Current Registered Nursing License in WA or OR.
• Current BLS certification required at date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient to determine if medical exam is needed before forensic exam.
• Coordinate care with agencies involved and referrals for medical/psychological follow-up.
• Perform and document sexual assault and forensic interviews.
• Perform and document domestic violence and forensic interviews.
• Conduct complete physical and forensic exam with evidence collection and photography.
• Maintain chain of custody for evidence and adhere to protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in care and records.
• Provide testimony as fact witness and coordinate with attorneys.
• Maintain clinical expertise and communicate with FNE Coordinator.
• Maintain equipment and manage unit resources.
