Job summary

Lawrence Hall, a Chicago-based nonprofit, seeks a Residential Youth Unit Coordinator for its Child & Family Treatment Center (CFTC). You will lead a residential unit, supervise staff, and ensure safe, structured, trauma-informed care for youth aged 8–18.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with families and community partners, with a schedule that includes evenings and weekends onsite.

Qualifications

• Must be 25 years or older as a condition of employment.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license required.
• Direct experience with youth 8–18 who’ve experienced trauma or behavioral health challenges.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavior management.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily unit operations including staff supervision and scheduling.
• Ensure treatment plans are implemented with trauma-informed, youth-centered care.
• Provide coaching and supervision to direct care staff.
• Monitor safety, conduct rounds, and support crisis intervention.
• Build collaborative relationships with youth, families, staff, and partners.
• Participate in hiring, evaluations, and quality improvement efforts.
