Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways in Alameda, CA is seeking a part-time Residential Advocate for the Emergency Housing Services program. This in-person role requires 16 hours per week, Sat-Sun 3-11pm, and involves supporting families and adults experiencing housing instability with trauma-informed care.

You will monitor safety, provide emotional support, and coordinate with Case Managers. A high school diploma is required; driver’s license and background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Experience working in residential, shelter, or social service settings preferred.
• Experience working with families or individuals experiencing housing instability preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and RP insurance approval to drive agency vehicles.
• Able to complete all required background checks including fingerprinting and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active, visible presence in the residential setting to support safety.
• Provide emotional support and trauma-informed guidance to participants.
• Complete incident documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist with shift transitions and maintain clear logs.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and leadership to coordinate services.
