Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) in Alameda, CA seeks a Program Advocate for the Anchor Village overnight shift (Wed/Thu 11pm–7am). This 16-hour/week, non-exempt role supports drop-in center operations, participant needs, and referrals while upholding trauma-informed care.

You will work closely with the Site Coordinator to ensure a welcoming environment, safety, and timely documentation. A High School diploma and valid CA driver’s license are required, CPR/First Aid preferred or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness or in social services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience working in shelters, day centers, or outreach programs.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• A valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and be approved by RP insurance as a driver.

Responsibilities

• Direct Participant Support: greet participants, assist with check-in, explain guidelines, provide information on resources.
• Program Monitoring and Safety: monitor spaces, conduct site checks, manage conflicts with de-escalation techniques.
• Program Operations Support: assist with daily activities, open/close procedures, keep spaces clean and ready.
• Documentation and Communication: maintain shift logs and report concerns to supervisor.
• Participant Engagement and Referrals: encourage use of services, provide referrals and supports.
