Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) seeks a Youth Advocate for 40 hours/week, overnight, in-person in the Oakland area. The role supports shelter operations for youth with a history of trafficking or domestic violence and assists Case Management staff.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma, 2+ years’ relevant experience, and are able to meet licensing, vaccination, and background-check requirements. Local Bay Area availability is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience preferred.
• Two years of full-time experience serving the target population or equivalent education/experience.
• Two years’ experience in social work in a group home or short-term residential program.
• Ability to pass background checks, immunization and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter facility during day, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Provide emotional support and active listening to residents.
• Perform telephone screening for potential clients.
• Assist with data entry, filing and clerical duties.
• Provide confidential, holistic, trauma-informed services.
• Orient new residents to the facility and provide back-up shift coverage.
• Participate in reflective supervision and document processes and procedures.
• Perform general program operations and other duties as assigned.
