Job summary

Ruby's Place is seeking a Youth Advocate (Lena’s House) for a part-time, 16-hour weekly position in Hayward, CA. The role covers Sat-Sun overnight shifts (11pm–7am) in a non-exempt, on-site setting. The program serves survivors of violence and trafficking with trauma-informed care.

The organization emphasizes survivor-centered services, community collaboration, and rigorous screening, including background checks and required certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of full-time experience with the target population or equivalent education/experience.
• Twenty-one years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and valid CA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the facility during day, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Provide emotional support and active listening to residents.
• Perform telephone screening for potential clients and assist with clerical duties.
• Provide confidential, trauma-informed services and orient new residents.
• Maintain documentation and timesheets, and support program operations.
