Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) in Alameda, CA is seeking a Program Advocate to cover the weekend overnight shift (Sat-Sun, 11pm-7am). This part-time, non-exempt role supports drop-in center operations, assists participants, and maintains a safe, welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong commitment to serving diverse populations, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a trauma-informed approach. Local Bay Area residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with homelessness or social services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
• Experience in shelters/day centers/outreach programs.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Valid CA driver’s license, insurance, and driving approval by RP required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to participants at the drop-in center.
• Greet participants, assist with check-in and orientation.
• Respond to participant needs and provide information about resources.
• Maintain a respectful and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Monitor program areas for safety and adherence to expectations.
• Support daily program activities and participant flow.
• Complete shift logs and document interactions per procedures.
• Communicate updates to the Site Coordinator and program team.
• Assist with referrals to housing navigation and case management.
