Job summary

The Recovery Centers of America seeks a dedicated Recovery Support Specialist to provide direct support and supervision for patients in substance use and behavioral health services. You will work with clinical staff to promote safety, engagement, recovery and a therapeutic milieu; you will assist with education, activities, documentation, and coordinating care within a trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and systems; training provided.
• Familiarity with 12-step modality.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record (as applicable).
• Customer service focus and strong communication skills.
• Problem solving, adaptability and time management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient activities and conduct safety checks; document rounds and notes.
• Provide direct patient care with trauma-informed approaches.
• Assist with daily schedule activities and patient transitions.
• Recognize distress signs and respond to behavioral instability.
• De-escalate crises and participate in emergency response as needed.
• Communicate patient concerns to clinical staff promptly.
• Handle patient belongings processing for admissions and visits.
• Assist with packing belongings for discharge.
• Supervise Wellness Center activities and patient engagement.
• Support New Patient Orientation and visitation programs as applicable.
• Demonstrate confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
