Job summary

The Recovery Centers of America Management Company is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to provide direct support and supervision to patients in behavioral health services. Working with clinical and nursing staff, RSS promotes safety, engagement, recovery, and a therapeutic milieu.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, leading educational and recreational programs, assisting with crisis intervention, monitoring behavior, and documenting care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience of 1 year working in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and record-keeping systems; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient activities and completes documentation including rounds sheets and shift reports.
• Participates in direct patient care ensuring safety and uses trauma-informed approaches.
• Assists with daily patient schedules and activities.
• Recognizes signs of distress and responds appropriately.
• Assists with de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed.
• Communicates patient concerns to clinical and nursing staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional conduct with patients and families.
