Job summary

SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments) in Fremont, CA is seeking a Housing Case Manager to support survivors of domestic violence through Housing First services. The role provides intensive case management, access to financial assistance, and advocacy with landlords and agencies to promote housing stability.

The position is full-time, on-site, with an hourly rate of USD 32.86 and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work or related field.
• At least 1 year of case management experience in social services.
• At least 1 year of experience with domestic violence survivors.
• Understanding of survivor-centered and trauma-informed service models.
• Knowledge of Bay Area housing market and resources for lower-income communities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite; experience with databases.
• Valid California driver's license and access to reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management for survivors.
• Conduct one-on-one sessions to assess needs, set goals, referrals, and track progress.
• Assist clients with housing waitlists, affordable housing, and benefits (SSI/SSDI, CalWORKS, CalFresh, VOC).
• Conduct housing assessments and search for units via online platforms and outreach.
• Advocacy with landlords and housing providers on behalf of clients.
• Support clients in employment training and educational programs to improve economic stability.
• Deliver flexible case management in-home, in-office, mobile, or virtual across Alameda County.
• Maintain accurate client files and document services accurately.
• Manage intake across databases; maintain directory of resources.
• Meet regularly with Housing Manager for supervision and oversight.
• Respond to crisis calls and walk-ins; provide emergency transportation as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational retreats.
• Onboard new staff and volunteers; contribute to program planning and operations.
