Job summary

Epuchildren is seeking a Home Navigator to meet families in their homes, delivering the Parents As Teachers (PAT) curriculum, parent education, and child development information to promote early learning from pregnancy to kindergarten.

The role requires in-home visits, case management, collaboration with community resources, bilingual Spanish is a plus, and a California driver’s license with reliable transportation. You will work in a home-visitation setting with flexible hours each week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, Child Development, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years’ work experience in home visitation may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal, interpersonal skills, planning/organizing, information gathering, identifying solutions, summarization, listening, goal setting, multi-tasking, teamwork, collaboration, initiative, and ability to make independent decisions within guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home visits and provide parent education and family support.
• Link families to community resources and conduct in-home teaching and problem-solving.
• Utilize the Parents As Teachers curriculum to engage parents in child development activities.
• Develop, monitor and review goals with each family during visits.
• Maintain confidential family records and timely documentation.
