Job summary

PMCH in New Jersey seeks a skilled Parent Educator to deliver the Parents as Teachers (PAT) home visiting model, conducting regular visits in Bergen County, performing developmental screenings, and guiding families from birth to kindergarten.

The role emphasizes building trusting relationships with families, coordinating with community partners, documenting activities, and empowering caregivers through education, goal setting, and resource connection. A signing bonus of $1,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in working with children (0–5 years) and families.
• Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of child development and family-centered services.
• Ability to document and coordinate with community partners.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular, long-term relationships with client families and build trust.
• Conduct home visits to provide parent education, developmental guidance, and support.
• Assist parents in improving parenting practices and home environment.
• Administer developmental screenings.
• Refer families to health and social services as needed.
• Plan and lead group meetings on child development and parenting.
• Maintain client charts and complete required program reporting.
• Attend ongoing training sessions and meetings.
