Job summary

InterAct in Raleigh, NC seeks a Domestic Violence Case Manager to provide trauma-informed case management, advocacy, and support services to adult victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The role emphasizes safety planning, empowerment, and client-centered services.

The Case Manager collaborates with clients and partners to promote safety, housing stability, and long-term independence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related human services field and three (3) years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault or five (5) years of equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with InterAct standards.
  • Compliance with InterAct’s Communicable Disease Policy.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and case management services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client strengths, needs, barriers, and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized, strength-based service plans focused on safety, housing stability, economic empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
  • Provide court advocacy and hospital and/or Solace Center response and support, as needed.
  • Participate in the agency’s on-call rotation, including scheduled crisis line and walk-in coverage, with periodic overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Assess housing barriers and eligibility for housing assistance and related resources.
  • Develop housing-focused case management plans, including intake assessments and goal planning.
  • Support clients in securing and maintaining housing by addressing barriers, coordinating referrals, and providing ongoing advocacy.
  • Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities, including basic lease terms.
  • Provide proactive housing and budget counseling, including support with personal budgeting and financial planning.
  • Facilitate and manage the Domestic Violence Education Support Group.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to volunteers and interns.
  • Represent InterAct in the community through outreach, training, collaboration, and partnership development.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, InterAct, and community partners, including landlords and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in Empower DB, including case notes, demographic information, and progress documentation.
  • Complete required paperwork, data collection, and grant reporting in accordance with program and funder requirements.
  • Adhere to all agency confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision, team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
  • Complete required onboarding training and a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations.
