Job summary

Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Diversion Center Technician (1451) to deliver trauma-informed care to adults with mental health and substance use symptoms, across Amarillo and surrounding areas. The role supports a multidisciplinary team in a trauma-informed setting and requires strong communication skills.

The position is full-time in Amarillo, with weekdays, weeknights, and weekend shifts. A High School Diploma or GED and some college coursework (or ABLE) are required, plus a Texas

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One college semester (12 credit hours) or ABLE score demonstrating reading ability.
• Maintain composure in crisis situations.
• Willing to work with law enforcement and across programs.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead initial engagement with individuals served using trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
• Transport clients and assist with meals while maintaining a safe environment.
• Collaborate with Diversion Center staff to meet client needs.
• Build rapid rapport and establish trust with clients in crisis situations.
• Participate in on-call rotation to cover shifts as needed.
