Job summary

Texas Panhandle Centers in Amarillo, TX is hiring for a full-time role at the Diversion Center. You will engage individuals in crisis with trauma-informed, person-centered care and work with a multidisciplinary team to meet their needs.

Responsibilities include building rapport, ensuring a safe environment, transport and meals for clients, and adherence to the organization’s code of conduct. Requires a high school diploma or GED and Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the ABLE test
  • Must be able to maintain composure in a crisis situation
  • Must be willing to work with Law Enforcement, TPC staff across all programs, and other community stakeholders

  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ethical and professional communications using Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Serve individuals with mental health and substance use symptoms with criminal justice involvement
  • Initial engagement with individuals served through the Diversion Center using trauma-informed, person-centered approach
  • Build rapid rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients in crisis situations
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary Diversion Center team to meet client needs
  • Maintain safe, clean environment and assist with transport and meal preparation as needed
  • Adhere to TPC Code of Conduct and report concerns when standards are compromised
