Job summary

FosterAdopt Connect that serves Kansas/Missouri communities seeks a Behavioral Interventionist to support children with emotional and behavioral challenges. You’ll use trauma-informed approaches, provide coaching, and help children develop daily living skills, relationships, and independence.

Role involves after-school/evening/weekend shifts, ongoing training, and supervision. Requires safety holds training, 21+ years old, and a valid driver’s license; some travel up to 30 miles may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
• Must be able to perform safety holds on at-risk clients after training.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smartphone and laptop for work purposes.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children on neurodevelopmental activities to build healthier emotional regulation.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training, supervision, and development.
• Create engaging activities based on each child’s interests and goals.
• Support children in developing positive skills and managing emotions.
• Assist families and adhere to routines while modeling supportive behavioral strategies.
