Job summary

FosterAdoptConnect seeks Behavioral Interventionists to work one-on-one with children facing behavioral health challenges in the Kansas City area.

You will support emotional regulation, daily living skills, and healthy relationships through role‑modeling and engaging activities, with ongoing training and supervision. Typical schedule includes afternoons, evenings, and weekends, 3–5 times per week, to fit client needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with elevated behavioral needs is preferred.
• Able to perform safety holds on clients after training.
• Able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have a smartphone and a laptop/computer for work.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance; reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to children with behavioral health challenges.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support daily living skills and emotional regulation.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training and supervision.
• Create engaging activities aligned with each child’s interests and goals.
• Assist families to support placement stability through consistent routines.
