Job summary

FosterAdoptConnect is seeking a Behavioral Interventionist to work with children and teens facing trauma-related challenges in Kansas and Missouri. You will apply trauma-informed strategies, model healthy behaviors, and support daily living skills alongside families in care.

Requirements include: 21+ years old, HS diploma (bachelor’s preferred), experience with elevated behavioral needs, ability to perform safety holds, physical stamina to lift up to 100 pounds, and a smartphone and laptop for

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with elevated behavioral needs is preferred.
• Must be willing and able to perform safety holds on clients at immediate risk.
• Must navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smartphone and laptop/computer for work purposes.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children on neurodevelopmental activities to support emotional regulation and independence.
• Provide role-modeling, coaching, and redirection to develop positive skills and manage emotions.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training and supervision.
• Create engaging activities based on each child’s interests and goals; work 3–5 times per week in afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Support families by promoting healthy relationships, communication, and community success.
