Job summary

Richmond Public Schools is seeking a Care and Safety Zone Supervisor to work with the Director of Safety and Security and school leaders across multiple locations. The role emphasizes building a safe, trauma-informed school culture and mentoring students needing social-emotional support.

The incumbent will lead restorative circles, address safety concerns with staff, and help implement SCORE. Home visits, incident reporting, and incident response are part of the duties under a full‑time

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build authentic relationships with students, families and staff focused on safety and support.
• Support tiered supports for students with behavioral needs and alternatives to suspensions.
• Apply trauma-informed and restorative strategies to resolve conflicts.
• Lead community circles to support social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with administrators to identify and address safety concerns.
• Support SCORE implementation and reporting requirements.
• Conduct home visits to support attendance.
• Adhere to Safe Schools assessment, planning and reporting requirements.
• Participate in threat assessment and school culture teams.
• Assist in breaking up physical altercations and ensure safety during conflicts.
• Render First Aid when appropriate.
• Prepare incident reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
