Job summary

UCAN Academy and High School in Chicago seeks a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support teachers with behavioral management and trauma-informed services. The role focuses on Positive Youth Development within UCAN's clinical philosophy, monitoring progress and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior programs, supervising students, attending staff meetings, and maintaining progress reports.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate required; BA preferred.
• Paraprofessional Certificate plus State Letter of Approval required.
• TCI certification maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers in behavioral management of students under supervision.
• Implement specified behavioral programs as directed by teacher.
• Supervise and monitor students for behavioral outbursts in/out of class.
• Maintain safe, positive environment focused on behavioral growth.
• Maintain behavioral reports and perform routine duties.
• Attend routine staff meetings and events.
• Observe and evaluate students’ behavioral progress.
• Participate in staffing, team meetings, and related program meetings.
• Pursue ongoing training via seminars and conferences.
