Job summary

UCAN Academy and High School seeks a Social Worker to provide individual and group therapy, guided by trauma-informed practice and Positive Youth Development principles. You will support IEP goals, coordinate with families, schools, and agencies, and ensure compliant documentation.

The role demands strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills in a fast-paced therapeutic school setting in Chicago.

Qualifications

• MSW required.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
• Understanding of Positive Youth Development.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of child welfare system.
• Ability to work independently and in a high-functioning team.
• Experience with data entry, reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan services; develop IEP goals.
• Conduct individual and group therapy; apply trauma-informed approaches.
• Plan and organize caseload to meet IEP service minutes.
• Build relationships with families, schools and agencies.
• Document and report in a timely, accurate manner.
• Maintain professionalism and boundaries; demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
