Job summary

UCAN Academy and High School in Chicago, IL is seeking a School Social Worker to provide individual and group therapy within a trauma-informed framework for students with IEPs. You will support healing through trauma-informed practice and Positive Youth Development while aligning with UCAN’s clinical philosophy.

Under the Clinical Director, you will implement IEP goals, coordinate with teachers and families, document progress, and ensure safe, developmentally appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

• MSW is required.
• Must have either PEL in School Social Work Certification (preferred) or LSW/LCSW.
• Experience with trauma-informed practice and Positive Youth Development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic interviews and evaluates students for services.
• Develops and implements IEP goals and therapeutic approaches.
• Provides individual and group therapy aligned with IEP goals.
• Maintains organized caseloads and timely documentation.
• Collaborates with teachers, families, and community partners.
• Ensures safety, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to UCAN philosophy.
