Job summary

Sofidel America in Shelby, NC is seeking a Transportation and Shipping Office Supervisor to lead the shipping and receiving functions. You will supervise transportation, shipping office, and gate house teams, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate with Customer Service and Accounting to prioritize shipments.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in transportation/shipping, an associate degree or high school diploma, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with SAP or TMS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of transportation and/or shipping experience.
• Experience supervising an hourly workforce preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work and safety of transportation, shipping office, and gate house associates, including adherence to SOPs and safety.
• Work from orders and/or analyze requirements to choose carriers and coordinate with traffic departments to confirm deliveries.
• Coordinate with various departments to monitor timeliness and accuracy of shipments and deliveries.
• Work with Customer Service and Accounting to determine priorities and track shipments.
• Analyze invoices to reconcile detention and mileage costs and validate freight claims.
• Oversees labor hours and prepares work schedules, including extra shifts when needed.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggest efficiency ideas and cost reductions.
• Performs supervisor duties for personnel development and staffing, ensuring department outcomes.
