The Transportation Security Administration is seeking Transportation Security Officers to ensure the safety of travelers. This role involves providing security across various transportation sectors and may require occasional travel for training. Candidates must meet specific qualifications, including work experience in security or aviation screening and a high school diploma.
Transportation Security Officers are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to GS-5/6), you must meet one of the following:
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Volunteer experience through National Service programs is also credited.
Full-time positions require 40 hours/week, with shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends. Part-time positions generally range from 16-32 hours/week. Specific schedules are determined by the airport.
No travel expenses are paid for employment or application travel. This is not a law enforcement position.
