Transportation Security Officers are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties may also extend to securing high-profile events, important figures, and anything that impacts our transportation systems. Salary Information: The salary range for East Wenatchee, WA (EAT - Pangborn Memorial Airport) is $43,876 to $56,282 or $21.02 to $26.97 per hour, including locality pay of 17.06%.

This Transportation Security Officer position is located in the Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a TSO within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports, and aircraft. Duties may include but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

1. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
2. OR
3. Education: High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate.

Credit for experience is based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Volunteer experience through National Service programs or other organizations is also credited.

Additional requirements include:

• Occasional Travel Required: Up to six weeks of full-time travel for TSA's New Hire training, paid and reimbursed per TSA Travel Policy.
• Selective Service Registration: Verification required for male applicants born after 12/31/59.
• Credit Check: No delinquent taxes or past due child support.
• Residency: Resided in the U.S. for three of the last five years, with some exceptions.
• Reemployed Annuitants: May have salary reduced due to pension.
• Dress and Appearance: Must adhere to TSA dress code, covering tattoos and body piercings as specified.

Work Schedules

Full-time: 40 hours/week, including irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, and weekends. Part-time: 16-32 hours/week, with similar shift variability.

Maintaining Employment

Includes completing training, recertification, background checks, and drug screening.
