FreshPoint, Inc. seeks a Transportation Supervisor to assist the transportation manager in overseeing delivery and backhauls, training staff, ensuring safety, and complying with government regulations.

The role emphasizes supervising daily operations, coordinating with warehouses and customer service, managing schedules and budgeted labor hours, and promoting safe, efficient, and compliant transportation practices.

Qualifications

• 24 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• High school diploma or GED; business/logistics degree preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• DOT regulations training certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• supervises the daily work and safety of transportation associates.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.) and records are accurate.
• Oversees labor hours and consumables within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
• Assists with training of new associates, including cross-training of existing staff.
• Direct the proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of the delivery department.
• Coordinates required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggests efficiency ideas and cost reductions.
• Enforces company policies, protocols and procedures including food safety and DOT compliance.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains positive associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
• Works with safety manager on training, observations, investigations, and safety inspections.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
