Job summary

Zūm is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety operations at its LEADs, TN location. You will drive program development, training implementation, incident management, and regulatory compliance to protect employees, students, and the communities we serve.

You will build a culture of behavioral safety, manage safety staff, and ensure best-in-class standards. Strong knowledge of FMCSA, OSHA/DOT, and a CDL are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in safety management in transportation, preferably school bus or passenger transport.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, state pupil transport laws, OSHA/DOT standards.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture, training development and delivery for transportation staff.
• Oversee training activities: driver training, first aid, in-service, road evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA; manage safety records and audits.
• Lead investigations with root cause analysis and incident reporting.
• Collaborate with insurers and customers on incident resolution.
