Job summary

Zūm is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety operations at our Howard County, MD location. You will drive the safety lifecycle from program development and training implementation to incident management and regulatory compliance, safeguarding students, drivers, and communities.

You will champion behavioral safety, manage safety staff, and establish best-in-class standards that ensure every person arrives home safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in safety management within the transportation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, state pupil transportation laws, OSHA/DOT standards.
• Supervisory experience overseeing driver workforce and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety operations at the Howard County, MD location.
• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for transportation personnel.
• Manage safety department staff and establish performance objectives.
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, state pupil transport laws, OSHA/DOT and maintain records for audits.
• Investigate incidents using root-cause analysis and coordinate with insurers and stakeholders.
