Job summary

Greyhound Lines, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Safety & Compliance in Atlanta to lead safety, driver training, and regulatory programs.

You will ensure audit-ready processes, promote safe driving, oversee driver qualifications, and partner with Operations, Fleet/Maintenance, HR and leadership to lower risk and foster a proactive safety culture. The role combines hands-on leadership with incident investigations, policy development, audits, and reporting of safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, EH, engineering, transportation, or related field.
• 5+ years in safety, transportation compliance, or risk management with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of FMCSA/DOT driver requirements, Hours of Service, ELDs, and CVSA rules.
• Valid CDL and commercial driving experience preferred.
• Strong communication, investigation, analytical, coaching, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and safety reporting systems.
• OSHA training or CSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee driver qualification files, background checks, DOT medical certification, and FMCSA Clearinghouse processes.
• Monitor compliance with FMCSA/DOT, CVSA, and federal/state/local requirements; maintain records and address deficiencies.
• Lead safety training programs and monitor safety performance across the employee lifecycle.
• Coordinate investigations of accidents, injuries, near misses, and safety violations; implement corrective actions.
• Develop, update, and enforce safety policies; conduct inspections and audits of facilities and operations.
• Provide regular safety performance reporting, audits, and risk assessments to leadership.
• Collaborate with Operations, Fleet/Maintenance, HR, and trainers to embed safety in daily decisions.
