Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 to lead PS&E review and provide design support for Olympic Region transportation projects. The role focuses on ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with WSDOT standards while coordinating across design teams.

The ideal candidate will advance plans, specifications and estimates, guide engineers, and contribute to regional manuals and provisions.

Qualifications

• Experience applying engineering principles to transportation projects.
• Ability to review plans, specs, and estimates for compliance and constructability.
• Proficient with design software and document control tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating cross‑functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Review PS&E contract documents for transportation projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate the Region Review process and ensure permit/commercial documentation is complete.
• Prepare final contract documents for project advertisement and addenda.
• Provide technical guidance to designers during PS&E development.
• Review Design Documentation Packages and approvals from development to final approval.
• Evaluate roadside design elements for compliance with Design Manual policies.
• Support regional design operations and participate in project status meetings.
