Washington State Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 to lead design and construction engineering functions within the Project Engineering Office. You will oversee contracts, schedules, and complex highway projects to meet WSDOT standards and public needs.

The role requires strong technical and leadership capabilities, experience in CADD/OpenRoads, and a collaborative approach to delivering safe, reliable, and resilient transportation systems across Washington state.

• Foundational knowledge of transportation engineering principles and practices.
• Experience in preparing and managing project development schedules.
• Experience leading staff and overseeing project work.
• Experience inspecting contractor work and ensuring compliance.
• Experience evaluating data and creating roadway designs; familiar with design standards.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and oversee contracts and design documentation for State Highway projects.
• Manage project development schedules, coordinate deliverables with support offices, and report status to Engineering Management.
• Direct complex and multiple small-scale design projects through design and plan preparation, including roadway, environmental, right of way, access control, and specialized features.
• Perform CADD and analyze field data, and assess constraints against design standards.
• Mentor others in WSDOT design processes, documentation, inspection methods, and contract requirements.
• Serve as Chief Inspector for multiple construction projects, overseeing contractor work and compliance.
• Direct construction inspection activities, including staking, earthwork, pavement, drainage, tests, and field records.
• Coordinate with contractors and staff; prepare and coordinate contract estimates and final records.
