Job summary
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Design & Quality Support Engineer (TE2) to join the Olympic Region Plans Office in Lacey, WA. You will prepare design documentation, PS&Es, cost estimates, and schedules for highway projects while providing review and QC support to ensure designs meet standards and contract requirements.

Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of civil, structural, geotechnical, or transportation engineering principles.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and manuals.
- Ability to document engineering activities through reports and calculations.
- Experience with engineering software and CAD for design and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare PS&E for highway construction projects.
- Review policies, manuals, plans and reports to prepare PS&Es.
- Develop alignments, data packages, hydraulics, drainage, and geometrics.
- Use CAD to develop designs and modeling of highway projects.
- Oversee and direct work of transportation technicians.
- Conduct site visits to observe and verify as-built conditions.
- Create documentation of design standards and decisions.
- Provide project review and QC support to region offices.
