Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support projects across Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires 5+ years in traffic or roadway design, with project management and client-facing responsibilities.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff while ensuring QA/QC per Volkert standards. A PE license in Alabama is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS/MS in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with progressive responsibility.
• Alabama PE license required.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, ArcGIS, and traffic analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for Volkert clients in Alabama.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and direct designers to deliver work.
