Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support our Gulf Region, located in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires a civil engineering background with 5+ years in transportation design and a PE license.

You will manage projects, organize schedules, and lead design teams to deliver roadway, traffic, and planning studies. Expect client interaction, budgeting, documentation, and oversight of junior staff, with opportunities for growth and

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in transportation engineering with growing project responsibilities.
• Alabama PE license or ability to obtain license.
• Experience with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for clients in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and direct designers to deliver work.
• Provide technical design guidance on roadways, traffic operations, signals, and planning.
• Prepare studies, documents, and reports for projects.
• Manage contracts, change orders, and project documentation across phases.
• Track budgets to meet financial metrics and deadlines.
• Prepare correspondence with clients, subconsultants, and regulators.
• Attend meetings and present context of plans to clients and public.
• Support business development and market Volkert to new/existing clients.
• Coach junior staff and interns in engineering practices.
