Job summary

Colonial Group in Escondido, CA is seeking a Project Engineer II to provide higher level technical coordination on electrical projects under the Project Manager. This exempt, individual-contributor role may be placed on a project site with limited customer interaction.

Responsibilities include formulating schedules, reviewing plans for accuracy, coordinating Tier-Subcontractor work with foremen, evaluating RFIs, and assisting with change orders and project close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office / O365 applications.
• Familiarity with project management and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering support to Project Managers with minimal supervisory direction.
• Formulate project schedules based on estimates, milestones, and criteria.
• Review plans and specs for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate subcontractor scheduling with project foremen.
• Discuss project issues with inter-departmental personnel and field forces.
• Evaluate RFIs and flag areas of need.
• Analyze submittals and shop drawings for conformance.
• Organize submittals to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with PM to finalize purchase orders.
