Job summary

Otak seeks a Project Engineer to apply design expertise across civil projects—including roadways, trails, underpasses, bridges, and campus/site work—with a path from concept through construction. You’ll help deliver safe, sustainable transportation solutions and support proposals.

This role suits an experienced civil engineer aiming to advance toward project management, leading design teams, coordinating with clients and agencies, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license required or professional licensure in progress.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive civil engineering experience with emphasis on transportation.
• Experience coordinating with public agencies (cities, counties, transit).
• Proficiency with major design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads).

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical design and delivery of transportation projects.
• Coordinate with project managers on scopes, schedules and budgets.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with AASHTO, ADA, MUTCD, ODOT, and WSDOT.
• Lead teams, support proposal efforts, and mentor junior staff.
• Provide construction-phase support including submittals and site visits.
