Job summary

Otak is seeking a Project Engineer to apply design expertise across transportation projects, from concept through construction. You’ll lead complex design efforts, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and engage with clients and agencies to deliver safe, sustainable transportation solutions.

The role supports proposal efforts, mentors emerging professionals, and offers a path toward a Project Manager role in our Portland OR or Vancouver WA office. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required or to be obtained.
• 5+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with transportation/public infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for transportation and transit projects.
• Coordinate with public agencies and private clients.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with AASHTO/ADA/MUTCD/ODOT/WSDOT standards.
• Provide construction phase support and client coordination.
