Job summary

Otak seeks a Senior Transportation Project Engineer to apply design expertise across municipal roadways, trails, bridges, and campus infrastructure, taking projects from concept to construction. You will lead complex design efforts, coordinate diverse teams, and engage with clients and agencies to deliver safe, sustainable transportation solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience with emphasis on transportation and public infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the technical design and delivery of transportation and transit projects, building relationships with public agencies.
Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet client goals and contract requirements.
Apply knowledge of AASHTO, ADA, MUTCD, and WSDOT standards for regulatory compliance and design quality.
Mentor junior staff and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Support project management activities, including progress tracking and client coordination, with a path toward a Project Manager role.
Assist in preparing proposals and developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Contribute to business development through strong client relationships.
Provide construction-phase support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits to verify design intent.
