The State of West Virginia invites applications for a Transportation Program Manager 1. This exempt, at-will position reports to the WV Division of Multi-Modal Transportation and oversees the development and execution of division-wide programs and projects.

Responsibilities include managing teams, meeting milestones, and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience; substitutions may apply for education or experience.

The Transportation Program Manager 1 will report to the WV Division of Multi-Modal Transportation/Division of Multimodal Transportation Facilities. This positionoversees the development and execution of a division or district-wide program(s) and/or project(s). The position may manage teams and will be responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the project is completed on time and within budget. Assigns milestones, develops reporting processes, and ensures that every team has what they need to fulfill the objectives of the program or project. Acts as a liaison between the individuals working on the program and key stakeholders. This classification is distinguished by the lower level of complexity and smaller scope of the program/project, usually at a division or district level rather than statewide. Performs related duties as required.

TRAINING/EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a professional, administrative, technical, or supervisory position may substitute for the required training/education on a year-for-year basis, through an established formula.

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a professional, administrative, technical, or supervisory position.
• Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, through an established formula.
