Job summary

Fehr & Peers in San Francisco is seeking interns to support transportation planning projects across multiple disciplines. Interns will perform tasks similar to entry-level staff, gain hands-on experience, and receive continuous feedback to foster professional development.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled or completing a bachelor’s (junior or senior) or master’s degree in a related field such as transportation/urban planning or civil engineering.
Interest or knowledge in transportation planning/engineering principles and practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to present to diverse audiences.
Openness to learning new tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

Analyze and solve transportation planning or engineering problems.
Communicate clearly, orally and in writing, including in community engagement settings.
Use software effectively and make timely and informed recommendations.
Work on projects such as traffic operations simulations, bicycle/pedestrian plans, freight and goods movement, travel demand modeling, and transit planning.
Learn and adopt new tools and approaches while maintaining professional judgment and accountability.
