Job summary

Fehr & Peers offers an internship program designed to develop transportation planning and engineering skills through hands-on project work. Interns participate in projects ranging from traffic operations and travel demand modeling to bike/pedestrian planning and regional studies.

Semesters, summer, or year-round options are available, and interns receive continuous feedback. Responsibilities include analyzing complex transportation problems, communicating findings clearly, and using software

Qualifications

Strong interest or knowledge of transportation planning/engineering principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion for serving local communities
Enrollment in junior/senior bachelor’s or graduate program in a related field
Proficiency with listed software tools or willingness to learn new tools

Responsibilities

Analyze/solve complex transportation planning or engineering problems
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing, including in community engagement
Use software effectively and make timely recommendations
Work on diverse projects such as traffic operations simulations, bicycle and pedestrian plans, and travel demand modeling
Embrace new tools and technologies while maintaining professional judgment
